I honestly couldn’t get over the number of trigger inputs that are available on this pad. You can have a major setup with controlled all by just this one unit. The Roland SPD-SX and Alesis Strike MultiPad are the two big hitters vying for the top percussion pad spot. The former has been the go-to for a number of years thanks to its intuitive design, CD sound quality and perfect integration into v-drum setups or working as a standalone instrument.

The Alesis Strike MultiPad ships with both a special edition of Pro Tools | First as well as a copy of Ableton Live Lite for all you budding producers out there. USB Drive Supported Format: FAT32 Supported File Type: 16-bit, mono or stereo .WAV files, 44.1 KHz Sample Rate This electronic drum pad used to compete with the Roland SPD-SX for features and usability, at half more than half the cost. The new winner is the Strike MultiPad. Overview of the Pads and I/O – Alesis SamplePad Pro Creating your own kits is very simple, thanks to the large, informative display, dedicated buttons and intuitive user interface. Starting with an empty user kit, simply hit a pad and press the Sound button to access the Sound Assign screen, where you assign a sample to a pad. Like many electronic percussion devices, the Strike lets you assign two samples — Wave A and Wave B — to a pad, and mix between them using velocity. Sound selection is via the data knob, turning it to navigate sound categories and pushing it to confirm your selection. This leaves your other hand free to hit the pad and audition the sound. With the addition of the Alesis Strike MultiPad, my rig finally feels complete and allows me to be in control in ways I never imagined. Whether it’s live, in the studio, or at home, my creativity starts with Alesis."
