River Barle and Withypool Hill
If you are thinking about taking a walk in Exmoor, this is a great option. You will begin walking on higher land, all the way to Withypool Hill. You will pass a stone circle before heading it down to Tarr Steps. You will return to the starting point following the Barle River.
This is a classic walk of 8 miles. The farthest point of the walk is Polesden Lacey. This is an Edwardian house in a breathtaking location in a hidden valley. Here you will find a dramatic landscape that inspired numerous artists, writers, poets, and painters.
Jacob’s Ladder in the Peak District
This is a walk that you should go on if you have some experience. Jacob’s Ladder has been created in order to cut down a zigzag path through the Pennines. If you are lucky enough to go there on a sunny day, you will see that it was worth the effort.
Forest of Bowland
In the past the forest of Bowland has been a royal hunting land. The truth is that the name “forest” is a bit misleading because in fact it is moorland. The walk is just perfect for the people who like wild animals because there are a lot of them to catch a glimpse at.
White Loch of Myrton
If you would like to relax while walking, this is the perfect path for you. It follows White Loch of Myrton and it also passes by the “Wren’s Egg”. On your way you will see a lot of interesting stone formations and you shouldn’t forget to check out the statue of the standing otter made of stone.
Although the majority of people think that Gower is plain land, there are small hills to climb as well. One of the most beautiful locations to see is Cefn Bryn. The location is easy to access and it is a great walk even for families with smaller children.
